Regional Truck Driver

Position Description:

Requirements

• At least 21 years of age is necessary
• Tips for passing a drug test at Ryder
• Applicants must undergo a comprehensive screening process that includes a background check, motor vehicle evaluation, and confirmation of drug and alcohol history from previous employers spanning three years
• Complete a Department of Transportation physical for licensing requirements
• Meet the standards set by Ryder for the road test
• Required documentation includes your Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and any necessary endorsements for the role
• A key requirement is having concrete, documented experience with a Class A vehicle like a tractor-trailer or a similar transport:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years,or
• A minimum of two years of experience in the last five years is a prerequisite
• A track record of five years of experience within the last ten years
• Showing proficiency in executing prescribed written or oral guidance
• Skill in reading, comprehending, and applying laws, rules, and procedures

Responsibilities

• Adhering to the relevant federal and state laws, regulations, and agency guidelines is necessary
• Discovering and reducing safety risks and maintaining detailed logs and records
• Assisting with the transfer of freight onto or off of vehicles, as requested by the customer
• Completes additional duties as designated
