Requirements
- Individuals must have reached the age of 21 as a minimum requirement
- How to successfully clear a Ryder drug test
- Applicants must undergo a comprehensive screening process that includes a background check, motor vehicle evaluation, and confirmation of drug and alcohol history from previous employers spanning three years
- Get a DOT physical exam for commercial driving purposes
- Achieve a passing grade on the Ryder road examination
- Kindly submit the necessary Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and any relevant endorsements for this role
- Prior hands-on involvement with driving a tractor-trailer or similar commercial vehicle with a Class A license is essential:
- months experience within the past 3 years,or
- Two years of experience within the last five years is mandatory
- Five years of relevant experience within the last ten years
- Showing proficiency in executing prescribed written or oral guidance
- Proficiency in understanding and executing laws, rules, and procedures
It is essential to be aware that supplementary criteria may be necessary depending on the specific location or account.
Responsibilities
- Making sure that all applicable federal and state laws, regulations, as well as agency rules and guidelines, are being followed is essential
- Recognizing and reducing potential dangers to ensure safety, along with maintaining precise logs and records
- Assisting with the transfer of freight onto or off of vehicles, as requested by the customer
- Carries out any other responsibilities as delegated
