CDL B Delivery Driver

Job Summary:

This position offers a Monday through Friday schedule with early morning dispatch and home daily routes. Drivers start during the 30-day training period, transitioning to component-based pay with average annual earnings of $76,000. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates. The role focuses on safely delivering food and related products while maintaining excellent customer relationships.

Responsibilities:

• Operate a straight truck or tractor trailer to deliver food products locally and regionally.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections following DOT and company safety guidelines.
• Deliver and unload products into customer storage areas safely and efficiently.
• Verify delivery accuracy, collect signatures, and manage documentation.
• Collect payments when required and handle returns according to policy.
• Inspect freight for damage, report issues, and ensure all equipment and materials are secure.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and records of service hours in compliance with DOT regulations.
• Perform routine cleaning and housekeeping of vehicle and dock areas.
• Report safety hazards or required repairs immediately to management.
• Support departmental goals and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 12 months of commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL-B license and current DOT Health Card.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) for the past 3 years.
• Ability to lift and move freight ranging from 10–90 lbs using a two-wheeler or lift gate.
• Successful completion of road test, background check, and drug screening.
• Preferred: six months of delivery experience using a hand truck and ramp.
• Preferred: experience with onboard computer or electronic log systems (PeopleNet) and handheld scanning systems (POD).
• Preferred: customer service experience in delivery or logistics environments.
