Class A Truck Driver

Position Description:

Ryder is a key player in the provision of tech-centric services for supply chain, dedicated transportation, and fleet management to companies across the spectrum, including emerging business ventures and well-established multinational corporations.

Requirements

• The minimum threshold for age is set at 21 years old
• Ensure a favorable result on a Ryder drug screening
• Compliance with Ryder's standards includes passing a background screening, motor vehicle inspection, and submitting records of drug and alcohol screening from former employers dating back three years
• Pass a medical evaluation for DOT approval
• Accomplish the necessary skills to pass the Ryder road examination
• Required documentation includes your Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and any necessary endorsements for the role
• Indispensable prerequisite involves having tangible experience driving a tractor-trailer or a comparable Class A vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years,or
• Within the previous five years, candidates should possess at least two years of experience
• A track record of five years of experience within the last ten years
• Competence in comprehending and carrying out written and/or verbal directives
• Proficiency in understanding and executing laws, rules, and procedures

It is essential to be aware that supplementary criteria may be necessary depending on the specific location or account.

Responsibilities

• Complying with the applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules and standards is vital
• Finding and mitigating safety hazards, coupled with accurate record-keeping and logging
• Helping with freight loading or unloading duties as required by the customer
• Executes supplemental assignments as directed
